“This third volume of the CAET Chinese Book edition is published in January 2025. This carefully curated volume includes articles published in the CAET journal from 2017-2023. CAET, Creative Arts in Education and Therapy: Eastern and Western Perspectives journal was established in 2015 by Dr Tony Zhou. CAET is an online, open-access and peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fostering dialogue and research between East and West and has attracted leading scholars, writers, artists and practitioners to publish their work for an international readership. This journal promotes some of the ways in which the arts and cultural practices have had an instrumental role in forging and defining art-based identities and practices, as well as promoting art- based scholarship and research that promotes cultural diversity, inclusivity and social justice.
In this volume, we emphasize projects in which the arts are central to inquiry and further cross-cultural understanding and illumination between Eastern and Western traditions and applications. This invited edition showcases innovative and groundbreaking work and approaches in a changing and complex world, highlighting the rich diversity of artistic practices and research from around the world, including Indigenous traditions. This volume represents the variety of art forms, across disciplines attesting to, and creating new knowledge about the dynamic interface between all of the arts, including the visual arts, dance, movement, poetry, music and drama. This volume encourages the reader to critically reflect on how they understand their own agency in the various fields of their practice and how they can contribute towards intercultural understanding and social justice using their art-forms.”
