Debra KALMANOWITZ, MA, has worked extensively in the context of trauma, political violence, and social change, locally, internationally and in countries of conflict. Debra is a Research Postgraduate (PhD can.) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration and an Honorary Research Associate at the Centre on Behavioural Health, University of Hong Kong. Debra has worked with refugees and asylum seekers for many years, including for the past 8 years in Hong Kong, co-directs ATI (Art Therapy Initiative, www.atinitiative.org) and continues to work in her own studio. Debra is the co-author of the edited books Art Therapy in Asia: To the Bone or Wrapped in Silk and Art Therapy and Political Violence: With art, without illusion.
